at least we haven't had to hear the 72 Fin's yaps this year

before the Pats almost went 19-0 we would have seen / heard the 72 Dolphins all over the place. That is the biggest reason I was pulling for the Pats in that SB, to shut up the 72 Dolphins. this year with the Saints and Colts sitting undefeated so far I've not heard a peep from the "fins".

It's pretty much a death sentence to anyone who doesn't lose like that, it ups the pressure incredibly IMO. Losing a game would help both teams, esp. the Saints, I think Indy could hold up better in the big game as opposed to the Saints.

I think Espn has figured out that with the divisions watered down as badly as they are (as is the whole NFL) that going undefeated in the regular season isn't the feat it once was. There's a huge difference in making 28 teams out of the top talent in the country and making 32 out of that same talent. The quality of the individual teams goes down with every expansion team added...and since 1972 there been around 7 or 8 teams added. You take the top talent on those 7 or 8 teams and spread it over the other 28 and each individual team improves drastically...the other thing is the rule changes involving DBs and protecting the QB...prior to that it was alot tougher to pass the ball and keep your QB healthy. Even if a team now days does go undefeated it isn't quite the feat the 72 Dolphins pulled off.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
